Pass the Blessing is made by one person. If something is broken or confusing, write and I will answer, usually within two days. Saying which phone and which version of iOS you have helps. [email protected]

  1. How do we play together?

One person taps Host. Everyone else taps Join and picks that table from the list. When everyone is seated, the host pulls a ribbon for the questions and taps Start.

The phones find each other directly, so they need to be in the same room with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth on. The first time, iOS asks each phone to allow Pass the Blessing on the local network; say yes, or the table will not appear. There is nothing to sign in to.

  2. I cannot see the table to join

Check three things: both phones have Wi-Fi or Bluetooth on, the host is still on the table screen, and Local Network is allowed for Pass the Blessing in Settings, Privacy & Security. A hotspot made by one of the phones also works.

If you tapped a table and it says "Couldn’t reach" the host, the phones saw each other but could not connect. Move closer and try again.

  3. Can I play on my own?

Yes. Tap Solo and three bots sit down with you. They play at a human pace, guess on your questions, and send you an Amen when you win.

  4. Where do the questions come from, and how hard are they?

There are six hundred questions, each with the verse it comes from, in the World English Bible wording. The host picks Kids, Mixed or Deep for the table.

Within that, the game sets the difficulty by how you are doing: when you are close to winning the questions get harder, and when you are far behind they get easier. A question is not asked again until the whole set has been used.

  5. What happens if someone’s phone disconnects?

With three or more at the table, the game carries on. Their seat greys out and keeps their cards, turns skip them, and a note at the top says who dropped. If the host drops, another phone takes over as host on its own.

With two players, there is nobody to play against, so both phones go back home with a note saying who disconnected.

  6. How do I change my name or face?

Tap your face in the top corner of the home screen. Names are up to seven letters, so they fit under a seat at the table.

  7. How do I delete my data?

The app keeps only your name, your face and which questions you have been asked, all on your own phone. Deleting the app deletes them. There is no account and no copy anywhere else to remove.
